Her family was poor, nearly starving due to going for days without food. They were a family of tea farmers, making teas and selling them. It was out of sheer desperation that they seek to offer one of their own children to the dragons in an vain hope to get riches and a better life.
A hope that has rewarded them when the divination pointed to their youngest daughter, Leanne. Overjoyed that there was a good fortune heading their way, only to have their hearts elated to hear that she will become a bride of one.
With the time and date set for them to offer her up, they had prepared her, giving her extra lessons on how to be a good bride as well as scrounge up enough money, to purchase a wedding robe. It wasn't one of the finest but it was all that they could afford for her, in prayer that it will gain the dragon lord's approval.
The day came and after finishing preparing her, they took her to the mountain to the spot indicated and with hardly saying their goodbyes, left her to her new life. It was a little frightening for her, she had heard stories and legends about the dragons lords. The wait was nearly unbearable as soon, more offerings were set up and then one by one they were lead away into the mist.
Fear started to go through her as she idly glances to see the other offerings being accepted. What if?... What if in the end, she was rejected? Those thoughts and more were coursing through her head that she didn't even realize his approach.
That is, until she noticed his bow and his words. Emerald eyes blink at the sight of him before she moves to quickly offer him a bow in return. Beautiful, he looked so beautiful!
"Ye-Yes my lord! I am Leanne...." And now she was blushing quite a bit. "Are... Are you the lord that I was promised to?"
Indeed, the dragon carefully examines her and gained his approval of her dress. He's very well-aware of her social status, but that doesn't matter at the end of the day. As her husband, he has to honor her and respect her, and elevate her in his honor to both of their families. In his eyes, she is already lovely with her dress. Whatever her family can afford and prepared, they prepared her well, and she doesn't have to be perfect, just prepared. He'll be sure to pay back their fortune three times fold as a gift to her parents as their son-in-law later.
"Mm. This isn't the proper wedding yet. The ceremony will take place inside of my palace. Currently, the servants are assembling for the banquet and the tea ceremony, and my parents and my relatives will be there."
He glances at the offerings, "Oh, are those your offerings? They're very nice presents. I'll passed the word to my servants to collect them and put them as part of the banquet." In other words, he accepted it.
He offers his hands to hold hers, "Follow me now. We have to cross the threshold together through the barrier. Whatever you do, look forward and don't look back. Can you do that?"
The blush doesn't fade from her cheeks as she can feel him looking her over. She preys that she has gained his approval, even if just for her parents sake. Her blush only deepens when he mentions his family and relatives would be there. She... She looks so plain! And she will be meeting more dragon lords?!
"I... I shall pray that I will be a bride that you will be proud of...." She goes to speak softly, scolding herself for not working harder to get proper gifts for his family.
She blinks when she hears him accepting her offerings and smiles up at him. "It brings my heart joy to hear my lord has accepted these humble offerings."
His orders and question... They sound odd but she goes to nod her head. "I will do my best. I won't let my lord down." And oh gods, he is offering his hands to which she shyly goes to slowly accept. Her small hands, almost easily disappearing inside his bigger ones.
She's marrying him, so that means marrying him and be a part of his family and his clan. Introducing her to his clan is a formal part of the ceremony. Some are nobles and lords, and others are disciples. Even if she's plain, a red thread is already connecting them.
The servants already came to collect her gifts and carry them away. "Don't think about it. Just pay your respects as you would to do to your family. Greet and bow, and then smile. Then follow me to the table, and then we can eat. You must be hungry waiting outside, but be patient. Today is our day, so let's be happy and I want to know more about you."
Gently he takes her hands, fingers intertwine, and he calmly leads her to walk across the long bridge over a lake where they cross over together. She can see the sights and sounds of the snow-capped mountains and wilderness of the surrounding forest, the temples and towers where the dragons lived in the realm beyond the realm. He walks slowly so she can enjoy the scenery while crossing to the other side.
"I hope you like living here. Your family loves you a lot and I'm sure they will miss you. So we discuss when you can visit them once you know the rituals and rules, since you will carry my honor and my family traditions too."
This, was a lot for her to take in, but.. It would be best if she met his family and clan so that she knows who to give the most respect to besides her husband. She will have to be the best bride she can to him, as the red thread dictates.
She goes to let out a breath that she was holding a little before nodding. "I... I can do that. Just greet, bow and smile." At the mentioning of eating, her stomach growls a little. "Yes, I am a little hungry. But! I can wait to eat with you, my husband. I... I want to know more about you as well."

"Of course. No one wants to give up their child. Do you think I do not know them? I don't wish for my bride to be unhappy. I'm pretty sure we can see them as soon you settle in, to let them know you're not devoured."
He smiles a little as she takes in the scenery of her new home. "I hope you like it here. All of this land of the region belongs to my family, so when we have time, we will take hikes so you can learn the land." There's a lot of forests and animals that can be seen. The herd of deer drinking water, cranes swimming over the lakes.
Once he leads her up the stairs and into the manor, he pushes the door open and leads her inside. The servants can be seen, and he leads her into the dining hall where it's brightly decorated and the wedding banquet and meal is already long prepared.
From his family's point of view, he's leading a veiled bride, her face covered. They are seated by seniority and ranked. He makes a bow and he gestures to Leanne to do the same.
He pulls a chair and gently leads her to sit on the chair next to him, with her plate being laid out for her. The mood in the atmosphere is warm and happy, the scent of the meats, vegetables and soups being laid for all to eat.
"Sit here, my dear. You must be hungry? What do you like to eat? See all the food is laid out? We're celebrating for us. You can everything you like, your husband will serve you and feed you."
She prays with all that she is that this will work out. She will do whatever she can to make it work, if only to avoid dishonoring her family.
A soft giggle leaves her at his words. "My apologies as this one didn't know and shouldn't have doubted your knowledge. Mu eats quietly if not stiffly as he focuses on his meal as some of his family members chat and talk over him, especially the elders reciting the rules that the groom and bride must follow while his siblings remain quiet.
It was quite embarrassing for him, that his family is trying to teach his human bride the house rules already. But Leanne remains polite and graceful.
She'll find that he lifted a heavy-looking pot which turns out to be tea, pouring for her in her cup. "Drink this, it's tea to help you digest the heaviness of the meal."
The meal is followed by dessert that the servant brought in and he nudges her to help herself to it. The family made remarks she has a healthy appetite and should be ready for a baby. Even his grandma asked him when there will be grandchildren.
Mu forces a smile, embarrassed that his collective grandma and grandpa were asking that his pale face becomes red. "Ai-yah. Why rush? I want to focus on my business and building houses for the mortals. If she's going to have a child, it will happen. How many do we want? As much as we can, but I'll say two is enough."

And oh boy, she felt so hungry just looking at all the food, it was hard to hold herself back from eating too much, even with his help of getting more food. Worried that she would make the wrong impression on his family about her eating habits.
A worry that wasn't needed as she gives him a small nod in thanks for the tea, making small remarks about it. Only stopping when she realizes that was was speaking out of turn and semi rambling about tea. She was enjoying the desert until they mentioned about her being ready for a baby. It was so hard not to start choaking on her food at that, forever grateful for the veil to hide her blushing face.
"Ah... it might be too soon and today is the first day we met." She spoke softly, wanting to hide her face from everyone. It was one of the wife's duties that was drilled into her.
"But... how many do my honored elders wish upon us?" Just so she can be mentally prepared. "And my honored husband, he will also decide how many."
There was chatter in their dialect of language that followed, that Leanne may have a hard time understanding and following. But the answer she's getting that they wanted sons, sons to inherit the land and to be fine magistrates, politicians, and soldiers.

Finally Mu stood up, wraps one of her long sleeves around his wrists, and takes her hand. He said good-night to his parents and elders, and he gestures Leanne to pay respects to do the same.
"You must be tired. I'll show you to your room." A part of him is excited to finally have her alone to himself and he shows her new home in his manor which is infinite long halls. When it comes to stairs, he picks her up his arms and he flew to the higher floors.
The towers of Mu's manor might be tall enough to reach the heavens. When Leanne looked out the windows, there's cloud and mists around the mountains and dark skies of stars beyond the horizon.
Carrying her in his arms now, "If you wanted a bath, I can certainly prepared that for you." He offered.

Which he did and the servants came with hot, steaming water to pour into the tub and filled it to the brim. He pour herbs into the bath to get it ready.
"All right, the bath is ready. It's warm and hot, but not too hot." He even tests it himself by touching the water for the right temperature.
Her blush is not gonna fade as he carries her up the stairs and through the halls of his home. A part of her still couldn't believe that she was in the home of a dragon and that it will also be her home. Such a noble and majestic home.
"Especially compared to dragons such as yourself, my husband." She finally relaxes in his arms. She.... She will have to get stronger to be able to walk around the manor alone.
