[OOC: Another PSL AU pet person tale. Continuation of this thread!]
~
Mu lived in the wild once. He tried to remember what his original homeland was like. There are forests and mountains, and he travels with his nomadic herd as they migrate when the seasons changes. That was a month ago when he was captured by humans, shipped overseas in a cage and on a boat, then in a strange stable with the other animals where he was kept for a month, until he was moved again on a truck with the others, and he landed in another strange land, a village to be sold as an exotic pet for a quick cash in an auction.
Now he has no means in returning back home, back to the wild where he originally came from. As he has no idea how to travel there or the name of his homeland is. The human language, he's doesn't know their words and what they mean. He was a wild and feral sheep.
He never lives with humans before. Leanne is his first owner. When they first met, he was a very sickly sheep, traumatized from being captured from the wild and to be sold like a common household pet. She took care of him, nursed him back to health, and once he fit enough to walk around her home, it's the taming of his wildness and feral mind that comes next.
The pet and cuddles, and the kisses she gave him, during her breaks helped him withdraw from his shell and him trusting her as a human. He even learns to speak his name and her name.
"Mu...my name is Mu." He said as he cuddles with her on the couch. "Mu helps Leanne...? Teach? Learn?" New words he's learning. "Leanne is good."

"Mu...my name is Mu." He said as he cuddles with her on the couch. "Mu helps Leanne...? Teach? Learn?" New words he's learning. "Leanne is good."

He doesn't understand why she cares so much about him and up until why she's kind to him since the beginning. For now, he thought about the male rams who laughed at him and kicked him out of their herd, and how he wanted to badly a rematch to prove them wrong.
The food was delivered and when dinner was served, and Mu was nearly in tears when one bite becomes another, and a second bite becomes more, and that stirred his appetite. "This taste like home." He said with a happy bleat, and Leanne has this one of the many breakthroughs she discovered about him. "It was really good." So much ear wiggles as he eats and licks his plate clean, including eating the curry plain with the naan. "And spicey, and very yummy."
no subject
She wouldn't be able to fully answer that question. There was just something that drew her to him besides his eyes and since then, she just fell more and more in love with him.
The moment he started to tear up while eating dinner. Just watching him fully enjoy his food.. And having it remind him so much of home. "I am glad... So glad to hear that Mu." And guilt rushes through her as she can't return him home. "I guess then we should order from this restaurant more often. I will also have to look up the clothing styles of that area. In case you want to dress like your home." Mental note was being made, things that remind him of his home makes him happy. "You really like spicy foods, don't you?"
no subject
Leanne has magic around her that he adores and becomes accustomed himself too, but for now, she's like a mother figure to him, and he sees her as his owner who cares for him, and he returns his feelings by working for her around the house to pay it forward.
"It's okay. I just missed eating this." As the food of the villages can get bland after a while. With his belly full, he washed down with the sweet juices. "Yes, I like spicy foods and good seasoning." He said with a happy beat.
The food is all gone and it's becoming late at night, meaning it's time for bath and go to sleep. "Here, let me clean." Being a good sheep, he remembered his chores of cleaning and putting things away.
no subject
Yes, she was his owner and at times, she did feel a sense of pride watching him. Her love for him was the same as any other owner, she would like to believer, towards their pet.
"Okay, well, if you ever want to eat this again, just let me know and I can order it." He was so cute, with how happy he was and finishing his meal right now. "I will have to keep it in mind. You better let me know if my cooking isn't to you liking, especially now you remember the taste of your home."
It was late, she didn't realize just how late it was. "Are you sure? You had a long day." But... If he was sure then she will go ahead and take a shower, getting ready for bed. Perhaps tomorrow, she should go and speak with the flock's owner to see what is going on exactly.

Still feeling humiliated, he spent the night sleeping in his room alone, and while dinner was delicious, he went back to brood once more, with the bad day still fresh on his mind as he slept, the painkillers were kicking in by the time she sleeps.
- - - - -
The months that followed, from what Leanne gathered from the phone calls of the local sheep breeders and farmers, the answers varied from that the local sheep just won't accept a foreign sheep in their herd, and that Mu is simply a different breed from another region. Some answers and stories are pure denials, saying Mu started the fight, then when fights broke out, he was simply phased out.
Mu stopped visiting those farms, as he said the rams and the dogs on the property chased him out. So much for trying to socialize. He was more withdrawn and brooding in his room that he's more content in being her pet and companion, helping around her clinic, helping her with chores, though now his story was heard, circulating by the locals that they often teased him, as the story about how a shy pink ram is not accepted by any herd and the customers asked Leanne how is her sheep doing these days.
Meanwhile, coming summer, when the heat is slowly rising by the day, Mu's wool is becoming thick that it's pushing against his clothes and pants. It's becoming hot and itchy for him, that it's becoming evident he needs to be sheered, though he's rather skittish about it, the sheering his wool off.
"Leanne, you can have my wool..." He said to her one night after closing time. "My clothes don't fit." He said, bleating unhappily, and with the heat and humidity of summer, it's hot and uncomfortable for him.

-----
The months passed and she was getting more and more annoyed at the answers she was receiving from the sheep breeders and farmers. Especially the stories and claims that Mu was starting the fights.
She tried to hide her anger and annoyance from Mu as she didn't want him to pick up on it. Though it was getting harder and harder, especially when she catches the locals teasing him, to which she would promptly chase off. It was on those days that once the clinic was closed, she couldn't help but to vent in the same but heavier accent to him.
Why couldn't anyone be it human or sheep see just how special and wonderful Mu is? He was so kind and gentle that he wouldn't hurt a fly if he could help it. Just because his wool is pink? What is wrong with being different?! She hated it, hated that everyone seems to join in on the picking.
As summer was starting to come closer, she has been practicing and studying on how to sheer properly, getting ready for the time to sheer him. Something like this... This would be a great exercise in trust for him.
She blinks as he makes the announcement in his own way that it was time to sheer him. She nods her head and just speaks with a gentle tone. "I will try to be quick and gentle about it. Just let me know whenever you need me to stop or take a break." With that, she heads upstairs to a bathroom to get the sheering kit before returning to him. "Just pick where you will be the most comfortable, my beloved ram."
no subject
With a nod, taking a deep breath, "Okay, I'm ready." He waited for her in the bedroom and when she returns with a shearing kit, he removes his shirt, just the top part.
"I just need help with arms, my neck, and on my back..." He said shyly. And when his shirt was removed, there it was, so much glorious wool being grown on his back. As for the part around his leg especially near his groin, he can do that himself.
When this is over, when most of the wool came off, he's going to feel so naked. The wool protected him during the winter and absorbed the hits of the other ships when he fights, making him feel protected and bigger than the other males of the herd.
no subject
He was so fluffy under his shirt. Was he really that wooly? No wonder he was so soft and extra cuddly! She couldn't help but to stare for a moment before smiling and nodding. "Of course. I will start with your neck and back first." To ease him more into it.
This was the first time she has ever sheered him and will be seeing him without his wool on. "Hopefully it won't start growing back until fall time so you will be cool for the remainder of summer." She goes to gently speak as she begins the shearing process.
Like a good doctor, she wasn't fast but was slow and methodical with her sheering, making sure she got every inch of him without any nicks. She does a little bit extra, just getting the upper portion of his chest and harder to reach areas before stopping all together.
no subject
Back in that dirty stable, before he was sold, he was being forced to be sheered and had his wool taken away from him. Mu found that traumatizing and the humans weren't being gentle with that buzzing tool that clipped his wool.
Once most of the wool was sheered, Mu is starting to feel better, less suffocated, and much cooler, and the wool was off. With a sigh of relief, it turns out Mu was pretty smooth beneath the wool. Smooth skin, almost baby-like, though he was sweaty and in need of a shower. He put his shirt back on, and whatever wool left. Summer is hot, but now with the layers off, it wasn't that humid.
"You can keep that. If you can please give me that..." The electric clipper she has, he asked shyly, almost blushing. "I can cut out the rest."
no subject
She blinks as she realizes what she was doing and quickly withdrew her hand from him as he goes to put his shirt back on. She couldnt help but to blush and chided herself a little for that moment.
It was a night and day difference from when she first brought him home and now. She knows that he was still suffering from the trauma of his time with his captors.
"Thank you, Mu... For such a precious gift." She goes to kiss him on the side of his head. She was gathering the wool in a bag, already knowing what she was going to do with it. Emerald eyes blink at his request and she nods and hands him the electronic clipper.
"I will give you some privacy. There should be a bottle in the bathroom for you to use after you are done. It will help your skin a little."
With that, she leaves with his gift of wool and heads to her bedroom. First things first, she will have to make a call to a particular craftsman she knows.
no subject
With a smile, he's glad to see that his wool will be properly taken care of. Maybe she can make a quilt or a few articles of clothes to the villagers to make extra income. Or to use for themselves.
With a nod, Mu went to take care of himself in the bathroom to shave the rest. He was shocked he grew so much wool from the year he stayed with her. With a bit of clean up, he feels lighter, gets dressed, and return to Leanne with the rest of the wool to give to her, though this collection is thinner than the group of wool grown on his back.
The ordeal was embarrassing but he's a sheep, being wooly is a part of who he is, and he's cooler now. "Thank you, Leanne. Truly thank you. I dread summer because of the heat. I don't know what I'll do if I don't get sheared."
no subject
She smiles as he comes out with more wool for her. This was such a precious gift. She just smiles brightly up at him and shakes her head.
"You dont have to thank me. It is truly an honor that you trust me enough to shear you. It was my first time shearing so thank you for trusting me to do that."
no subject
Trust...Mu has to work on trust. He's growing more trustful with Leanne as a human.
Feeling upbeat, not sure what to do with her thanks, he has to show his gratitude in return and paying it forward to pay back. "I think working around the clinic will be easier. It's not so hot anymore. If there is any work for me to do?"
no subject
Trust, she can only hope that he will one day completely trust her.
But then his question about how to help out more around the clinic. "Well, it is shearing season so starting tomorrow so we may be getting a lot of sheep and their owners in the clinic. There is usually a lot of sheep who get nicked and are bleeding because of their owners. Their owners getting sprains and injuires from the sheep retaliating."
She moves to start to head back down to the clinic. "We should prepare properly as it is going to be busy from now on. It will last for a couple of weeks. I can teach you which medicines and techniques we will commonly use during this period so we can get through them faster."
But then she pauses and a smirk appears on her face as a thought goes through her. "And Mu.... If you see any of your biggest bullies, let me know. I believe I have the proper treatment for them that will stay with them for a while."
no subject
"Okay, I'll try and do the best that I can..." Mu can read and write very little, but couldn't connect what the words mean and how the medicines connect to the effect it has on the patients. Since he doesn't know what he's doing, he simply let Leanne take the reign, especially dealing with medicine, but he tries to be useful in helping her run the clinic.
Mu can only nod, feeling embarrassed. Although he appreciated her help, his pride as a ram...he hoped he can overpower them, have a victory over those guys, and prove his strength and be proud of it, though, at this point, he's starting to see that maybe revenge isn't the best path.
"If you see them, just let me know..." As he didn't want Leanne to be a part of his problem, though blushing how confident she is, as he's ashamed at his lack of confidence, he directed his attention to blissful work that must be done. "Let's get back to work." As there are the afternoon hours to work on, leaving Leanne to do as she will with his wool.
no subject
"I love you, Mu and I am grateful for any help during this time. Tonight we will prep some trays with all the basics we will need. So you won't need to memorize what bottle does what. I will try and label any containers on prepped trays to make it easier for you."
She leans over to give him another kiss. Hopefully with the trays already being prepped from the night before, it can boost his confidence. She will have to teach him about the paperwork for this time and how the payment system works.
"We are going to need coffee and tea almost always brewing during this time. Also Mu... If anyone starts giving you a hard time, you can refuse to treat them, just let me know if you do and I will back you up. I won't tolerate anyone mis-treating you or trying to bully you. I will be sure to announce it before taking the first patient."
She can sense his embarrassment about her help with his bullies and rivals. She just goes to sigh but in the end she will leave it up to him. "I will be down soon, just need to make a phone call and order some things."
no subject
He bleats again, "Okay..." His tail wags with all the kisses and pettings, and he realized he is safe, he can be himself, and he has nothing to be afraid of. For now, he doesn't want to think about being a rejected sheep from the herd and think of staying by Leanne's side and be useful to her.
"Okay, I'll do my best. I'm a good sheep, a good boy." He looks happy and when she goes away to get busy, he feels sad, because she said she loves him, and a part of felt empty and missing, because he cannot connect what love means to him yet. For now, he wanted to be useful and not be a burden and not be a dumb sheep, but a good sheep who is useful to his master.
no subject
She couldn't help but to hug and nuzzle him at the sight of his tail wagging. "Why chucker oi 'av ter be blessed wi' such a juicy pet?!" She squealed a little before heading off to make the call and work. He was far too cute sometimes for his own good.
After the call, she was in the medcience room and smiles to herself as she preps the tray. "Mu! Come in here and I can show you how to prep for what it to come. As well as teach you some basic skills."
[[ooc; the translation should be," Why do I have to be so blessed with such a cute pet".]]

When she left him for a while, he feels more confused at his physical bodily reaction and tries to focus on work. When she called him back, he felt a tug at his heart strings to obey her and quietly nodded.
"Yes, Master?" He's trying to focus now. "Okay, I'll try my best."
no subject
Work was the one thing that can distract from the guilt. A frown forms at him calling her master and she shakes her head. "Please Mu.... Just call me Leanne." Right now though it is time to teach him. "If you have any questions or are confused, please let me know. I will try and clear it up." Her one warning before going to teach him.
She made sure to go at a slower pace, first teaching him how to put a tray together and what particular items he will need as well as how much. Trying to challenge him by making him leave the room, putting the items in different spots and having him find them, praising him whenever he gathered the correct items.
Once she was certain that he could not only locate the proper items but also to put together a tray, it was time to teach him a little bit of cleaning and bandaging. Just a little bit as the previous tasks were quite a bit and she didn't want to over burden him. Using a fake arm, she was showing him how to properly bandage it. For now, this will be good enough.
"..... I.... I am sorry, Mu...." She suddenly just goes to speak quietly during the lesson, not even bothering to look up at him as the earlier images started to flood back into her mind.
no subject
It was hard, it was very hard, but at the end of the task, he's determined to follow her down to the letter, without messing up her commands, and when he finished, he seems worried, eyes full of fear, looking at her hopeful. "Done..?" He asked, but there's no joy in his eyes or in his expression other than a blank robotic look.
He is so not good at this nursing thing. His execution is clumsy. The bandages are not wrapped properly and whatever items are on the tray is simply out of place.
"Good...?" Ears in submission and his tail drop. No, it's not a good job, he knows this. "Master...?"
no subject
This whole night, it was becoming torture to her as he no longer had the joy or the happiness at learning. It was as if he died and just a shell remained. "Yes..... You are done...." It was half-hearted and not with the usual energy she praised him.
She looked over his work and frowned even more. No, she can't count on him now, not while he was like this. He was now back to being a patient instead of a caregiver. That final look was the last straw to prove this train of thought.
A hand goes to shyly reach over in order to pet his head but then stops before she could touch him and she withdrew her hand, stuffing it into a pocket before forcing a smile on her face. "Yes, good. You did a good job Mu." It was a lie but, he needed to hear the positivity.
"Why don't you head up for bed and I can finish up here." All smiles right now. "And you don't have to worry about helping me tomorrow as well. You have worked hard and deserve some rest. I will be find so don't worry about me."
She doesn't really wait for a response as she turns back around to start working on finishing the preparations. It was going to be a long night ahead of her but she needs it in order to focus her mind away from the quite of triggering him.
no subject
The pets are comforting, that the tension from before, he relaxed into it. He's...not bad. Just not an efficient worker as Leanne hoped for him to be. "Okay." At that, he looks relieved from the lesson and with a nod. "I go to bed." He smiles, though a weak one as from the dark place in his mind, he bounced back to the light, he is so tired from the guilt that he can't verbally explain.
"Rest...rest is good. I go rest." At that, the sheep wanted the bed to his bedroom, and turning on the light, and curled up on it beneath the blanket to warm, to feel safe and realize he has an owner who loves and cares for him, and eventually wait for her to finish work, hoping she goes to look for him and learns she isn't punishing him for being bad.
no subject
That was a rather weak smile and the relief on his face cannot be mistaken. She was hoping for an effective worker, especially for all the help he has given her. It was too soon and even with such small tasks, it was too soon. "Yes, to bed and rest. Don't worry about me or the clinic for tomorrow or the upcoming weeks. Just focus on resting."
It will take her a long time and even into the wee hours of the morning before she was finally done with all her prepping. She felt so tired and exhausted that she almost forgotten to check up on Mu, almost as once she headed back up the stairs, she idly checks into his room. She won't approach him on his bed, that was his one spot of absolute safety and she won't intrude on it. Once she made sure he was fine, she heads to her own room and collapses on the bed, not bothering to change out of her clothes as she catches whatever sleep she can get.

Mu woke up in the middle of the night in the darkness of the morning from a nightmare that made him woke up in sweats. How long he slept? Then he remembered he was useless and a burden to the nurse that earlier morning.
When he woke up, he hallucinated, thinking and seeing that his herd is here, surrounding him...only realized he's sleeping alone...on a bed...and remembered he lives with a nurse, his owner now. No herd present. He blinked, he could have swear he heard them and he was surrounded by them. No, not here. They're far away, and maybe the herd think of him as dead. Not real.
He felt lonely and cold. Part of him felt completely separated and cut off. Sheep are natural herd animals. He is a lone sheep. Yet, his mind is being pushed to the brink when the neighborhood herd rejected him. So the sheep don't want him and he's no longer sheep. He reached up to touch the brand on his horn, the brand of slavery that he is now a companion pet. The testament that the nightmares of that dark place where he was taken are real. That confirmed he is no longer sheep. Then what is he?
He got up, leaves his bedroom, and went looking for the nurse, only to find her sleeping in her bedroom. This woman, he belongs to her now, in body and soul. She will protect him, so perhaps he won't have nightmares of the dark place anymore, of the torture and torment. Protect him from going back.
He snuck into her bed to huddle close to her like they used to the nights before and for Mu, that's the time he felt most safe, by sleeping beside her on the bed. He may not have wool anymore, but his wool will grow back by the winter season. Keeping his body close to her bed, to keep her warm, her scent comforting and familiar, that he managed to go back to sleep right next to her.
